She told me a scared fire burnt within all women.
The very fire that gave life.
Fire would that would consume in terrible fury,
if anyone threatened the life it burst forth.
So and I choose to stay away
A distance, even as I close, stretched for miles
Like a feral beast her warmth attracted me
Yet the fear of fire was too great
To embrace her, being burnt to cinder was a price not too high
As the flames licked my body, I reveled in the agonizing joy
From ashes we once sprang forward, to ashes we will return
My only regret was having only one semblance of being with which to burn
