You’re easy to love on the days you write poems
The days you’re calm, understanding, and soothe
You’re easy to love on the days you’re witty and smooth
When each joke lands, each charm swoons
What of the days that are not so good
When you struggle to get out of bed or be of much use
When you drag everyone’s spirits down with you
When you say things that are not well thought out and crude
You’re easy to love on days that you win
The days you’re sharp, a cut above the rest
You’re easy to love on the days you work hard
When your grit shakes mountains, and perseverance shines apart
What of the days when you just want to give up
When you much rather go home, than go big or boom
When each thing comes a little bit harder and slow
When your shoulders buckle under the weight of the womb
You’re still you on the days that you lose
The days you don’t want to grind, have comfort and food
You’re still you on the days you’re not good enough
You’re still all that on the days you give up
