Immutable Love

Forever is an awfully long time to be without you

Painfully obvious is how eternity would drag without you

The very air I breathe drowns my lungs at the very thought

You nestle like aching realization at edge of my throat

A reminder of just how heavy a heart can weigh

Your loss symbolizes this cursed existence, devoid of meaning, and fickle

For men don’t need to fathom the vastness of universe to see there insignificance

They only need to traverse the depths of my sorrowful heart

For the fervor that bubbles to the surface, is but a simmer

Of the tar that settles at bottom, impenetrable and immutable, like your love
